Wainwright, who appeared in an online comedy sketch on the YouTube channel Smosh in 2012, has guest-starred on many film and TV projects like Criminal Minds & Lethal Weapon. Her casting as werewolf Maia Roberts in Freeform's fantasy show Shadowhunters that is based off of Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series of books, was revealed on September 16, the 16th of September. The character first appeared as guest-starring during season 2. Her character was later made a series regular during season 3. Wainwright is currently a part of Netflix's Raising Dion.
